A New Page

(A combination of thought and reflection)

God is all around me, He’s everywhere I look and each new day is but a new page in “Gods Coloring Book” One of my favorite songs by Dolly Parton.

I’m often reminded of a scripture. That faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. There is evidence. We can see it in nature and the wonderful people that touch our lives everyday. It’s everywhere, in everything that’s beautiful if we just take time to look.

Each new day is but a new page in each of our lives, and each new day comes with no guarantees or the guarantee that tomorrow we’ll get to turn a new page. We cannot erase the pages of time but we can learn how to embrace them.

There are pages in my own life that I will cherish forever and many others I’d like to erase, but I can’t. those are the one’s that I think I should really embrace because deep down inside I know that those are the pages that have led me to seek changes within myself and led me to more opportunities for growth and learning.

(SO I SHOULD REALLY BE A GENIUS BY NOW !!) J

Well, seriously, (here’s my motto, just keep it simple, PLEASE! J ) I have diabetes and NLD, so as complex and difficult that life can be for me I guess I can only hope that somewhere along the way I have made some difference in another’s life.

There are many that made the biggest difference in my own (and there is not enough room to mention all on this page) but one of them is DAN.

Not speaking for myself, but for the extraordinary people I have been blessed enough to meet on DAN; With-in every piece of beautiful work of art lies a beautiful heart. The artist is truly seen in their work. I have been fortunate enough to gain a truly wonderful friendship and have heard the most touching, life stories of these incredible people. DAN is full of faith, inspiration and hope.

I am very thankful to be a part of it.

Thank-you Wanda!

Biography

I have been a type one diabetic for 29 years now and have developed some complications.

I also have NLD. Anxiety disorder, and phobias.

Learn more about NLD:

I am 45 years old. I am an abstract/impressionist and I have been drawing and painting since childhood. and am self taught.

My mediums include, pencils,

Acrylics, and watercolors.

My subjects vary.

I have the greatest support team.

DAN of course, my wonderful parents, whom gave me a wonderful childhood and plenty of love and support. Also my daughter Heather, my spirit filled flower J , and my husband Ed, my soul-mate and best friend.

ARTISTS STATEMENT

I love art. It's my main interest and pleasure. It's healing, relaxing, and a way to release. It's a reflection of my deepest feelings and comes directly from my heart. A reflection of the things I love, the things that frighten me, and a presentiment of people; all the pains, sorrows, and joys that we all experience. I believe that we all experience equally these feelings at some point or another in our lives even though we are all different and unique in our own special ways. Unfortunately the sorrows are so sorrowful but the joys are so joyful. As they say, people make the world go round.

There are many excellent artists that I feel are far better than me. However I am a perfectionist at what I do and I like my work and am satisfied with it.

As a Home Health Aide, I felt I had something to give back to society because the preservation of human dignity was always foremost and my biggest concern, but I have not the physical capabilities to do this now and I feel my art is another way.

What else can I possibly say because I will be an artist until the day that I die.

I’ve started a series of abstract paintings called “The Symphony of Nature”.

I will begin with “symphony of trees” and so on, such as “symphony of spring”, “symphony of flowers” etc.

I plan to complete six 11x14 paintings for this series. Working with vibrant watercolor. My own depiction of nature in all of it’s glory and color.

I am very excited about this new project. I love abstract and impression, and of course nature! This is a new venture for me in the world of abstract and very healing and important to me.

The brighter side of life. I see nature as a symphony, a beautiful melody.

I hope other’s to enjoy, and bring a smile, or or ??? to the life of another. I will post as completed.

FAMILIES ANONYMOUS is one of the best things I ever did for myself. I learned that after all those years of obsessing and seeking every effort to save another person I had only stunted their growth. (In our own efforts to spare others we can prevent them from ever discovering the truth with-in themselves and even within our own selves.) There is a process that follows addiction. Ironic, that in all that insanity, I was blinded to the fact that I ended up needing as much help as them, if not more. I tried drinking my pain away and then I beat myself up some more because I came to the conclusion that I must have genetically given them this addictive personality. Wow!

Drugs are so very wretched. They destroy so many lives. And with them comes a lot of pain and sorrow, but you can find strength and hope through others that share your pain.

I can’t save or change another person, I can only love them, and the greatest gift I can ever give to those I love is prayer.

Which led me to the Greatest of All,

My Higher Power, the One that I can take all my troubles to, the One that is always there to love and to forgive. The One who makes ALL things possible.

I believe in liberty, so whom ever our Higher Power is to us, I have discovered that all beliefs have one concept in common. That it all begins with our conscience.

And by the way, scientists have thoroughly studied the human brain and haven’t found a cause for one yet. J Evidence!

We live in a very harsh world, and to close our eyes to this reality is very destructive, not just to ourselves but to our fellow human beings.

“Change”

frightening, huh? I know, because I have NLD.

But we have to if we care.

James 1:25

(Thank you Laurie, for you have touched my life in so many ways.)
